Monday night we watched Kyrie Irving and LeBron James put on a dazzling display, scoring 41 points each in a Game 5 win over the Golden State Warriors.

The Cleveland Cavaliers stars were certainly impressive, but let's not forget that on this date 23 years ago Michael Jordan scored a ridiculous 55 points against the Phoenix Suns in Game 4 of the 1993 NBA Finals.

Nobody had scored over 50 points in a Finals game since Jerry West in 1969, and Jordan's 55 tied him with Rick Barry for the second most all-time (Elgin Baylor scored 61 against the Celtics in 1962).

As a reminder for how absurd Jordan's performance was, here's a highlight video from the game.

Jordan showcased his full repertoire: athletic dunks, pull-up jumpers and, of course, his signature fadeaway.

The Bulls won the game 111-105 to take a 3-1 lead in the series. They went on to win the series in six games for Jordan's third NBA title.

No player has scored over 50 points in a Finals game since -- the closest was Allen Iverson, who scored 48 against the Lakers in 2001 (the same game in which he famously stepped over current Cavs coach Tyronn Lue), but that game went into overtime.
