49ers' Jauan Jennings: Best game of professional career
Jennings had six receptions (seven targets) for 94 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Rams.
Jennings saved his best game for the regular-season finale, as his two-touchdown performance helped propel the 49ers to an upset victory than landed his team in the playoffs. The 23-year-old hadn't topped three receptions, 46 yards or one touchdown in any of his previous 15 appearances this season, but he crushed each of those categories in one fell swoop against the Rams. Jennings has shown soft hands to complement his large frame (6-foot-3, 212 pounds), but it would be surprising if he managed to produce anything close to this monster performance in next week's playoff tilt against the Cowboys in his current role as the No. 3 wideout in San Francisco.... 49ers' Jauan Jennings: Has two receptions in win
Jennings caught both of his targets for 25 yards in Sunday's 23-7 win over the Texans.
Jennings saw his usual allotment of offensive snaps (48 percent) as the 49ers' No. 3 wideout, finishing with two receptions for the second week in a row. The 23-year-old didn't see his role on offense change much with rookie Trey Lance under center, so there isn't much to report here from a fantasy perspective. San Francisco escaped this matchup relatively healthy, leaving Jennings off the radar as an asset heading into a Week 18 matchup against the Rams.... See More ... See Less
49ers' Jauan Jennings: Logs 27 offensive snaps
Jennings caught two of five targets for 19 yards in Thursday's 20-17 loss to Tennessee.
Jennings saw his usual allotment of offensive snaps (46 percent), but was unable to replicate last week's trip to the end zone. The 23-year-old would have finished with three receptions for the third straight game if he didn't drop a pass that hit him right in the hands during a crucial stalled drive in the fourth quarter. Jennings has settled into a low-usage role as the 49ers' No. 3 wideout heading into a Week 17 matchup against the Texans.... See More ... See Less
49ers' Jauan Jennings: Hits pay dirt in victory
Jennings had three receptions (on six targets) for 28 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-13 win over Atlanta.
The 49ers' No. 3 wideout logged his usual amount of offensive snaps (44 percent), but he was able to use his large frame (6-foot-3) on a quick slant route for a four-yard touchdown to bolster his fantasy day. Jennings has now scored two touchdowns over his last four contests, with both not coincidentally coming in the only two games where he saw red-zone targets. Jimmy Garoppolo may have figured out how to use his tallest rotation wideout closer to the goal line, but sporadic trips to the end zone aren't enough to offset the 24-year-old's low yardage output in his current role. Jennings is just a deep-league option heading into Thursday's matchup against the Titans.... See More ... See Less
49ers' Jauan Jennings: Plays 65 percent of snaps
Jennings corralled three of five targets for 46 yards in Sunday's 26-23 win over the Bengals.
Jennings saw some extended run in the receiver rotation with Deebo Samuel filling in at running back (8-37-1) for the injured Elijah Mitchell (concussion/knee). This resulted in the 25-year-old experiencing new season highs in receptions, targets, yards and offensive snaps (45) in one fell swoop. Mitchell's status for next Sunday's matchup against Atlanta still is unclear, but Jennings requires at least one of San Francisco's top playmakers to be absent for him to carry any value in deeper formats.... 49ers' Jauan Jennings: Sticks in No. 3 role
Jennings logged 29 offensive snaps (50 percent) while catching his lone target for eight yards in Sunday's 30-23 loss to Seattle.
Trent Sherfield (two receptions for 16 yards) took over Deebo Samuel's (groin) spot in the starting lineup, which kept Jennings in the slot role for the time being. When Samuel returns -- he could be back as soon as this Sunday -- it will be interesting to see whether Jennings will retain his spot at third on the receiver depth chart, or if Sherfield has permanently leapfrogged him. Either way, the 23-year-old remains nothing more than a potential red-zone target (two touchdowns on eight red-zone targets) with limited playing time.... See More ... See Less
49ers' Jauan Jennings: Role continues to grow
Jennings had two receptions on three targets for 24 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-26 win over Minnesota.
Jennings continued to see a gradual increase in usage while serving as the 49ers' No. 3 wideout, experiencing new highs in targets and receiving yardage. The 23-year-old even appeared to catch a second touchdown, but it was reviewed and overturned when the wideout's knee barely grazed the white sideline paint in the end zone. Jennings may continue to see his usage increase with Deebo Samuel's (groin) status unclear for next week's matchup against the Seahawks. It is worth mentioning that fellow wideout Trent Sherfield appeared to be running Samuel's backfield motions and distractions in the fourth quarter, but both receivers are likely to see a small uptick in action if the star wideout misses any time.... 49ers' Jauan Jennings: One catch in win
Jennings caught his lone target for four yards in Sunday's 30-10 win over the Jaguars.
Jennings continued serving as the 49ers' third wideout in place of the injured Mohamed Sanu (knee), logging 33 offensive snaps (48 percent) in a comfortable win. The increased playing time hasn't resulted in a larger role in the passing game, as the 24-year-old has just two receptions for seven yards on three targets in the two games since taking over the slot role. We should expect more of the same from Jennings against the Vikings next Sunday.... See More ... See Less
49ers' Jauan Jennings: Takes over as No. 3 WR
Jennings logged 32 offensive snaps (47 percent) Monday, finishing with one reception (two targets) for three yards in a 31-10 win over the Rams.
Mohamed Sanu (knee) was placed on injured reserve this week, so Jennings assumed the veteran's role as the team's third wideout. The 23-year-old only saw two targets despite being on the field for nearly half of the team's offensive snaps, so there isn't much to report here from a fantasy perspective in the 49ers' current configuration.... 49ers' Jauan Jennings: Scores first career touchdown
Jennings caught both of his targets for 17 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 17-11 win over the Eagles.
Jennings ran a levels concept with tight end George Kittle, taking the under route and benefitting from the defense drifting towards his teammate as the wideout took the ball to the house. While this was a big day for the 24-year-old, keep in mind that he logged just six offensive snaps, so he is unlikely to find the end zone very often with the current depth chart configuration.... 49ers' Jauan Jennings: Off injury report
Jennings (heel) isn't listed on the 49ers' injury report Wednesday.
Jennings played well in the 49ers' exhibition opener, but an injury suffered in preseason Week 2 could have derailed the receiver's chances of making the 49ers. The 24-year-old ended up a member of the regular-season roster and no longer is on the injury report, so he could see minimal snaps in Sunday's season opener, if active.... See More ... See Less
