Adams was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.
Adams has appeared in seven contests for the Angels in September, going 3-for-25 with one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored. He'll be sent to the minors to make room for Michael Stefanic, who was recalled Monday.
