Bote was reassigned Thursday to the minor-league side of Cubs camp, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Bote is another casualty from the Cubs' offseason spending spree and will have to battle his way back into a role at the MLB level. It might take multiple injuries on the infield depth chart for him to reemerge with regular at-bats.
