Ortiz was optioned to minor-league camp Monday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Ortiz was added to the 40-man roster in November, but he's not yet knocking on the door of the majors. He'll open the season at Double-A Reading, where he struggled to a .208/.307/.377 line in 21 games last season.
