Alexy, who was limited to five appearances at High-A Down East in 2019 due to a lat injury, appeared in three games during the Arizona Fall League. He had a 6.75 ERA over eight innings in three starts.

Alexy, whom the Rangers acquired in the Yu Darvish deal of 2017, was viewed as one of the better young arms in the system after a strong 2018. He was shut down in early May in 2019 for what was supposed to be six weeks but turned into the rest of the season. As a low-level minor leaguer, Alexy will likely not receive the development innings in 2020 a young starter needs due to the coronavirus pandemic.
