Castellani was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.
Castellani opened spring in big-league camp due to his status as a member of the 40-man roster but was never likely to remain there long. He'll get a promotion this season despite recording a fairly poor 5.49 ERA in 26 starts for Double-A Hartford last season.
