Romano signed a major-league contract with the Yankees on Tuesday.

Romano elected free agency after clearing waivers Monday, but now he'll remain with the Yankees and reclaim his spot on the major-league roster. The right-hander holds a 5.84 ERA and 1.58 WHIP across 24.2 innings with the Reds, Brewers and Yankees this season, and he figures to work in low-leverage spots for New York going forward. Brooks Kriske was designated for assignment to make room for Romano on the 28-man and 40-man rosters.
