Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said prior to Thursday's 121-117 overtime win over the Warriors that Sabonis (ankle) will miss "a few games," James Boyd of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Sabonis, who was sidelined for just the second time all season Thursday after spraining his left ankle late in the Pacers' win over the Lakers a night prior, will almost certainly sit out the remaining two games of Indiana's road trip. Expect the big man to be re-evaluated when the Pacers return to Indiana on Tuesday, and he should be viewed as far from a lock to get cleared for Wednesday's home game versus the Hornets. Goga Bitadze started at center Thursday in place of Sabonis, recording 13 points, nine rebounds, five assists and one block in 31 minutes before being ejected in the second half.
