Turner posted a double-double with 40 points (15-22 FG, 5-9 3PT, 5-8 FT) and 10 rebounds to go along with one steal and three blocks across 44 minutes in Friday's 135-134 overtime loss to the Wizards.
Turner's point total was enough for a career-high, as the big man went off in a tight game. The hope was that new head coach Rick Carlisle would find a way to mix him and fellow big man Domantas Sabonis together more effectively this season, and all early signs are positive. While these types of numbers are not to be regularly expected, any type of consistency would be a welcome step in the big man's trajectory.
