Rockets' Amen Thompson: Assigned to G League

The Rockets assigned Thompson (ankle) to the G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Tuesday, Adam Wexler of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.

Thompson has been sidelined since suffering an ankle injury on Nov. 1, and this stop in the G League is one of his final hurdles to clear. The Vipers play against the Blue on Wednesday, so it will be interesting to see if Thompson gets some action.
