Williams didn't play in Friday's preseason defeat to the Chiefs due to a non-COVID-19 illness, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

The Cardinals' No. 1 tight end, Williams logged seven offensive snaps in the team's exhibition opener last Friday en route to one catch (on one target) for four yards. Considering he's compiled 23 receptions and 28 targets in 25 career contests with the team, he's not a candidate to be a regular in Arizona's passing attack. However, Darrell Daniels is the only other TE to have logged time with the Cards, leaving Williams at the top of the depth chart, when healthy.
