CeeDee Lamb might carry more hype than any wide receiver outside of the top-10 in ADP heading into late August-early September drafts if the first few days of padless training camp practices are any sign. The question we'll have to ask ourselves is simple -- at what point does the Lamb hype not coincide with his upside in year two? On one hand, the Cowboys seem unlikely to run anything other than a majority of 11 personnel (three receivers) and Lamb will feast on matchups against slot corners who can't hang with him. On the other, there are a lot of mouths to feed in that Dallas offense.

We want to keep you up to date with everything surrounding his 2021 profile. Below, we'll break down Lamb's outlook, changes in his ADP, where he's going in mock drafts, training camp/preseason updates and more.

2021 Outlook

CeeDee Lamb had a solid rookie campaign in 2020, and he should have the chance to be even better this season with a healthy Dak Prescott (ankle). Lamb is worth drafting as early as Round 4 in all leagues as a high-end No. 2 Fantasy receiver. Had Prescott stayed healthy last season then Lamb might have been among the best receivers in the NFL since he was on pace for 93 catches and 1,385 yards through his first five games. Hopefully, that's the kind of production we get from Lamb all season with Prescott back at 100 percent. (Jamey Eisenberg)

Lamb's ADP has been shooting up for the last several months, and in the last several weeks, it's on another steady incline likely at least in part to the 'Hard Knocks' boost.

Training camp/Preseason updates, more

  • Lamb's ADP has risen significantly as Amari Cooper continues to miss time in training camp.
  • Chris Towers recently wrote about whether or not Lamb is worth investing in at his skyrocketing ADP: "I get the excitement over Lamb, and he's a player I'll probably have to make sure I draft somewhere for a league that counts, just in case he does hit his potential this season. But I think his chances of hitting his high-upside outcome are being way overstated by his current price, which has risen to WR11 in NFC drafts since the start of August. Lamb is an excellent prospect in a very good offense, but he didn't come anywhere close to justifying this price as a rookie. Many will point to his best stretch, when he was on pace for 93-1,386-6 in five games before Dak Prescott's injury, as proof of his upside, but it's worth remembering he had just 16.7% target share with Prescott. He'll need to dramatically improve on that to come anywhere close to being worth this price, and I'm just not convinced he's going to match Amari Cooper in targets, let alone blow him away like he probably needs to at this price. While Lamb is the new, shiny toy in Dallas, Cooper was an even more highly touted prospect coming out of the draft than Lamb and has already been the kind of player everyone is hoping Lamb can become. Lamb should take a step forward this season, but I can't consistently buy him as a top-12 WR."
  • Jamey Eisenberg is more bullish on Lamb despite the recent rise in his ADP and even named him to his WR breakouts shortlist: "I'm enamored with Lamb this season, and he should be the first Cowboys receiver drafted this year. Lamb getting a full season of Dak Prescott (ankle) should make him a star Fantasy option, and Lamb was on his way toward making that happen as a rookie before Prescott was injured in Week 5. In his first five games, Lamb averaged 16.2 PPR points per game, and he averaged eight targets per game over that span. Only once without Prescott did Lamb top 16.0 PPR points per game for the rest of the year, and it will be fun to see Lamb improving in his second season with better quarterback play. Amari Cooper will still have a prominent role in the passing game, and the Cowboys are loaded with talent with Michael GallupEzekiel Elliott and Blake Jarwin also needing the football. But Lamb should end up as a weekly Fantasy starter in all leagues, and he's worth drafting as early as Round 3."
