Hurts, who is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets, has a high ankle sprain but is only expected to miss one game, Jay Glazer reported on Fox NFL Sunday.

After spraining his ankle in Philadelphia's Week 12 loss to the Giants, Hurts practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday through Friday before being ruled out of Sunday's game. His participation in practice suggests this will be a short-term absence, but Glazer's report that the sprain is higher up the ankle adds more uncertainty to his Week 15 availability. However, Hurts will have time to recover with the Eagles on a bye next week. Gardner Minshew will start with Hurts out while Reid Sinnett serves as his backup.
