The Patriots released Grissom on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Grissom -- along with Cole Croston -- was released to make room for Obi Melifonwu and Albert McClellan on the 53-man roster. Grissom appeared in four games for the Patriots this season, totaling just one tackle.
