The Panthers signed Matthews to their practice squad Wednesday, Anthony Rizzuti of Panthers Wire reports.
The 31-year-old played 19 special teams snaps in last Thursday night's Week 10 loss to the Bears after his elevation from the Carolina practice squad. He cleared waivers and heads back to the Panthers' practice team.
