Thompson is feared to have fractured his fibula in Monday's game against the Saints, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Thompson will need to undergo further tests to determine if he will be able to return this season. In his absence, Kamu Grugier-Hill and Claudin Cherelus will be candidates to replace him at inside linebacker opposite Frankie Luvu.
