The Saints claimed Swoope off waivers Wednesday, Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reports.
After the Colts dropped him from their roster earlier this week, Swoope will find a home in New Orleans and fortify the team's depth at tight end. Most of Swoope's initial opportunities will likely come on special teams, but at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds with quality athleticism, the 26-year-old could eventually establish himself as a viable red-zone threat for the Saints.
