Most traded players | Week 4 Rankings | Week 4 Projections

Editor's note: FanDuel.com is hosting a one-week long $350,000 Fantasy Football contest for Week 4. It's only $10 to join and first prize is $30,000. Starts Sunday, September 28th at 1 p.m. ET. Enter now to join Dave this week.

You could have drafted a bunch of receivers early, you could have taken a quarterback in Round 1, but when it comes to running backs, they're still the most chased and most cherished players in a Fantasy lineup.

Chase is an understatement -- as of early this week the four most traded players and eight of the Top 10 most traded players were running backs. The list includes Matt Asiata and the player he replaced, Adrian Peterson. The list includes well-known names like Reggie Bush and Frank Gore, who are part-time players for the time being.

And the most traded list includes a back who got off to a sensational start through the first two weeks before finally coming back down to earth in Week 3. That would be Darren Sproles.

The newcomer to the Eagles offense has played on just 78 of 230 snaps this season but ranks as a Top 12 running back based on his 117 rush yards, 196 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Frankly, Sproles has four good plays this season that have turned him into a Fantasy freakazoid. But it's the potential of him delivering any time he touches the ball that makes him so intriguing (plus his 10 yards per touch average through three games doesn't hurt).

But can he keep it up? And, what's a fair price to pay for a running back with so much boom-or-bust potential? In my estimation, Sproles is a fun flex option, maybe a No. 2 running back when a starter is on a bye week, but not someone reliable for big Fantasy points from week to week. In fact, it's likely his biggest games of the year are already behind him. But people are still ponying up for him.

Here are some deals made on CBSSports.com this week involving Sproles.

Darren Sproles and Andre Ellington for Michael Crabtree and Ronnie Hillman: Believe it or not, it's nearly a fair deal for Crabtree given Ellington's disappointing start and Sproles' surprising start. If a team was loaded at running back and needed a No. 1 receiver like Crabtree, then this deal definitely works. I might prefer the running backs myself.

Darren Sproles for Delanie Walker: It's close enough to be considered a good deal, maybe not a great deal. Any time two players with hot starts and low expectations for the future are traded for each other, it's far from lopsided.

Darren Sproles for Justin Hunter: This seems a little off. Hunter has plenty of potential, but we've seen none of it since the preseason. If you're going to sell high on Sproles you should be able to do a little better than this.

Darren Sproles and Marques Colston for Cordarrelle Patterson and James White: Unless this is a dynasty league deal, this one doesn't make sense. Colston had a brutal Week 2 but has shown up in Saints games otherwise. Patterson had a nice touchdown run in Week 1 and has been less than productive otherwise. Why throw in Sproles with Colston for Patterson?! It's too much, unless the owner getting him and White can keep both for the foreseeable future.

Our Trade Value Chart is designed to help you in making fair trades in your standard-scoring or PPR league. The values assigned to the players below are a long-term measurement of their Fantasy value. By adding two players' values you could determine what one player you might be able to get in return. This list should also work as a "Rest of Season" Rankings.
