The 49ers waived Henry on Tuesday with a non-football illness designation, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Henry subsequently went unclaimed Wednesday. When recovered from his undisclosed illness, Henry will be free to search for a depth opportunity with another club.
