Let's get you up to speed on the playoff races with eight full days remaining in the regular season.

The NL Central was already decided entering the weekend, as the Cubs clinched last week -- and on Friday clinched home-field advantage through the NLCS. Also on Friday night, the AL West became the second division to crown a champion, as the Rangers turned a perfect game watch into a victory. Now, add the NL East to the list, as the Nationals on Saturday clinched thanks to their win over the Pirates and the Mets' loss to the Phillies.

The other seven postseason spots are still up for grabs, though all the divisions are on life support.

Early on Saturday, we saw the Tigers blow a ninth-inning lead to the Royals (7-4) and the Cardinals beat the Cubs (10-4). Both of those games have playoff implications, as do these:

Now here is an updated look at the standings and current magic numbers for the leader of each race. By way of reminder, a team's magic number is the sum of its wins and losses by the second-place teams needed for the team in question to clinch the division/wild card.
