In order to retire with the team, Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons said he would be willing to renegotiate his contract, reports ESPN.com.
"I've been here for nine years, I've got a house here, I'd like to keep that house," he said. "I've got a family here that loves it."
Timmons, 29, has played his entire eight-year career with the Steelers. He said the key to staying with the Steelers will be his performance on the field.
"Week in and week out, you have to come with it," Timmons said. "This game is unforgiving. I love the competition. I feel I'm a great competitor."
