Smith was reassigned to minor-league camp by the Indians on Friday.
Smith signed a minor-league deal with the Indians in November and allowed five runs (four earned) on nine hits across five innings during spring training. The 31-year-old should start the season at Triple-A Columbus and serve as organizational pitching depth for Cleveland.
