Gonzales (8-5) recorded the win in a victory over the Diamondbacks on Friday, allowing three unearned runs on four hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out three.

The left-hander continued his mostly strong stretch run during his 101-pitch outing, with the second-inning home run he allowed to Henry Ramos his one glaring mistake. Gonzales bounced back nicely from surrendering five earned runs over five innings to this same Diamondbacks squad in his prior start, and he's now posted quality outings in six of his last eight trips to the mound. Gonzales will look to do his part to keep the Mariners' postseason push strong in his next start, tentatively scheduled at home Wednesday versus the Red Sox.
