The Sixers signed Bassey to a three-year rookie deal Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Bassey was the 53rd overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-11 center averaged 17.6 points and 11.6 rebounds across 28 starts during his final collegiate season at Western Kentucky. He will likely be firming planted behind Joel Embiid and Dwight Howard on the depth chart, but he should garner valuable lessons from the veteran duo.
