Ellenson was assigned Sunday to the D-League's Grand Rapids Drive, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
Ellenson is slated to be with the Drive through at least Friday for their home opener, so he'll miss the Pistons' next three games. Ellenson has seen a total of just six minutes over the first six games of the season, but a stint with the Drive will offer him some much-needed reps. Tobias Harris and Jon Leuer are slated to get the majority of the work at power forward for the Pistons, so even when on the active roster, Ellenson will struggle to see significant minutes on most nights.
