Hoyer completed 30 of 49 passes for 317 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Cowboys.

With Jay Cutler (thumb) sidelined, the Bears went three-and-out on their first two drives, allowing Ezekiel Elliott and Co. to build a 24-3 lead by the half. Hoyer wasn't actually to blame, as the Bears were held back by penalties and an inconsistent rushing game, in addition to Dallas' dominance of possession. In fact, Chicago only ran 18 plays in the first half, including six on a drive that started at the team's own 25-yard line with 38 seconds remaining before the break. Hoyer finally took advantage of the favorable matchup after halftime, mostly honing in on Zach Miller and Kevin White, with the former accounting for both touchdowns. Things briefly got somewhat interesting midway through the fourth quarter, but Hoyer put the nail in his team's coffin with a sloppy fumble that could've easily been avoided. He'll draw another favorable matchup in Week 4 against Detroit, unless Cutler is ready to return.
