Whitehead recorded seven tackles (six solo), an interception and an additional two defensed passes in the Buccaneers' 32-6 win over the Panthers in Week 16.

Whitehead once again stepped up his play in the absence of fellow safety Antoine Winfield (foot) and paced the Buccaneers in tackles on the afternoon. The fourth-year safety also snagged his second pick of the season when he intercepted a late first-quarter Cam Newton pass intended for Tommy Tremble and returned it seven yards to help set up a Ryan Succop field goal. Whitehead could be in for another elevated tackle tally in Week 17 against the frequently hapless Jets offense and now has three straight performances with at least seven stops.
