Week 11 Rankings: Standard | PPR

So, the Eagles didn't work out well in tournaments, but I still stand by the idea. After all, you can't put together a lineup of chalk and expect it to be any good in a tournament. That doesn't mean you can't have any. I'd expect the Titans and Colts to be the chalkiest stacks this week, and I want a chunk of both of them.

With Rob Gronkowski out, Delanie Walker deserves to be the highest owned tight end, especially in Sunday tournaments where you can't play Greg Olsen. I love T.Y. Hilton and both quarterbacks, but the Titans receiving corps is probably where I'll break from the crowd. I can't continue to bet on the unsustainable touchdown production of Rishard Matthews, especially if he's going to be highly owned.

If you're looking for a contrarian stack, the Jaguars are the first place to look. Blake Bortles has been awful most of the year, but garbage time makes him playable. I love Allen Robinson if Darius Slay can't get healthy, but Julius Thomas will have a great matchup regardless. Only the Browns have given up more Fantasy points to tight ends. If you want to get more contrarian (or cheap) at tight end, here are my thoughts on five below $5,000 on FanDuel.

Kyle Rudolph (FD $4,900, DK $3,900)

Rudolph is the class of the cheap tight ends, but it's really difficult for me to get too excited about him. The best argument is that Patrick Peterson shuts down Stefon Diggs, and Rudolph sees a big uptick in targets. He'll need it because you can't count on anyone getting into the end zone for the Vikings this week.

Jesse James (FD $4,800, DK $3,400) and Ladarius Green (FD $4,500, DK $2,500)

Cheap tight ends are bad enough without choosing players who are sharing work, but here we are. Ben Roethlisberger will be one of the chalkiest quarterbacks this week, and everyone is going to play Antonio Brown and/or Eli Rogers. You can differentiate your Roethlisberger with either of these two and have decent touchdown odds with how many we expect the Steelers to score.

Green has been limited early in the week with a knee. If he's limited on Friday, I'd look towards James but if Green gets in a full practice, he has far more upside.

Charles Clay (FD $4,800, DK $2,600)

I can pretty much guarantee that no one is going to be on Clay this week, and he may have the highest floor of the group. Clay has at least five targets in five of his past six games and a spectacular matchup against a Bengals team that has been terrible against tight ends. He gets overlooked because he still hasn't scored a touchdown yet, but that isn't going to last.

Vance McDonald (FD $4,700, DK $2,700)

Speaking of targets, Vance McDonald has 18 in his last three games and seems to be a much bigger part of the offense since Colin Kaepernick took over. McDonald has the talent, but hasn't had the opportunity. He should get plenty of opportunities playing catch up with the Patriots in Week 11. I'll probably only use him in my Kaepernick lineups, but he's my second favorite cheap tight end behind Clay.

Dennis Pitta (FD $4,800, DK $3,600)

Pitta's touchdown luck has been even more unbelievable than that of Charles Clay. Pitta ranks second at the position in receptions (46) and 16th in yards (375) but only 25th in Fantasy points because he's still yet to score a touchdown. There have only been two tight ends since 1989 to reach 50 receptions and 400 yards without scoring a touchdown over a full season. Pitta likely reaches those marks this week, and hopefully he gets a touchdown as well.
