Love agreed Wednesday with the Packers on a fully guaranteed, four-year rookie contract, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

According to Garafolo, Love is the first 26th overall selection in the current version of the rookie contract system to receive a full guarantee, demonstrating the team's confidence in the Utah State product. A controversial pick by Green Bay due to the presence of veteran signal-caller Aaron Rodgers, Love no doubt will be relegated to clipboard duties for at least the next couple of seasons as he learns the ropes. In the long run, though, Love figures to be the successor to Rodgers. Love is coming off a collegiate career in which he averaged 7.6 yards per attempt while tossing 60 touchdowns versus 29 interceptions in 38 games.
