Texans' Laremy Tunsil: Facing extended absence

Tunsil had successful surgery on his thumb Thursday and is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Tunsil was forced to undergo surgery after it was discovered that he had a fully torn UCL in his thumb. Given his timeline to return, a move formally placing him on injured reserve is likely to occur in the coming days. Geron Christian will likely take over at left tackle in Tunsil's absence.
