MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers at Atlanta Braves

Yankees ace Gerrit Cole will look to get back on the winning track when he takes the mound on Friday against the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. The last time Cole (6-2, 2.99 ERA) took the mound, the Yankees were no-hit by the Astros. Meanwhile, the Guardians will start Aaron Civale (2-4, 7.20). New York is a -235 favorite in the latest Yankees vs. Guardians odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while Cleveland is a +192 underdog.

First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. ET from Cleveland. The game is one of 15 on the MLB schedule for Friday. Elsewhere in the majors, the top two teams in the NL West collide when the Los Angeles Dodgers host the San Diego Padres, and the Cardinals and Phillies start a three-game series in Philadelphia. This is the same model that pegged the 2021 Atlanta Braves at 10-1 as one of three best bets to win it all last season. Anybody who has followed it has seen profitable returns.

Now, the model has locked in four confident MLB best bets for Friday. They all involve games at 7:10 p.m. ET or later, so there's still time to get these MLB picks in. If you successfully parlay the picks, you'd be looking at a payout of almost 13-1. You can see the model's MLB picks for Friday only at SportsLine.

The model, which ran 10,000 simulations on each of Friday's 15 games, is picking San Francisco (-155) to knock off the Chicago White Sox. The Giants arguably have the pitching edge entering the game as White Sox starter Lance Lynn (6.19 ERA) has struggled in three starts since returning from right knee surgery in April. Meanwhile, San Francisco starter Alex Cobb was excellent the last time he faced Chicago, pitching five scoreless innings of two-hit ball in a 9-3 victory in September.

In addition, the White Sox have struggled at the plate this season. After finishing fifth in the AL in runs per game (4.91) and fourth in OPS (.758) last year, Chicago is ninth in runs per game (4.18) and 10th in OPS this year (.688)
