Remember when Vontaze Burfict concussed Antonio Brown in the wild-card round of the playoffs last January?

Of course you do, because Burfict's head shot not only helped the Steelers beat the Bengals, but it also resulted in Browns' absence in the divisional round of the playoffs. Plus it involved Burfict, a player who's been involved in a fair bit of controversy in his career, and the Bengals and Steelers, two teams that despise one another.

With the Steelers and Bengals set to meet in Cincinnati on Sunday, the story has unsurprisingly come up again. On Tuesday, Brown revealed a surprising detail. Apparently, Burfict apologized to Brown in the offseason when they bumped into each other,

"[He was] just saying he didn't have no intentions of trying to injure, that it was a football move," Brown told ESPN.com.

Here's the hit in question. You be the judge:

In the aftermath of that hit, which was one reason why Burfict was suspended for the first three games of this season, Brown called Burfict an "idiot."

But Brown didn't call Burfict an idiot on Tuesday, saying that he doesn't have an issue with him.

"I don't have no issue with any guy. I'm a football player. I'm a competitor," Brown said. "When we're in the field, we're going to compete and be competitive. It's not personal between none of these guys. It's all in the game. ... I represent the Steelers. It's all business."

Unlike the last time the two players met on the field, the stakes won't be nearly as high. While the Steelers lead the AFC North by a game over the Ravens, the Bengals are on the outside looking in at 5-7-1. The Bengals, though, would undoubtedly find pleasure in spoiling the Steelers' season.

"They'll give us their best fight. They'll come out with a lot of emotion, trying to get us off our game," Brown said. "We've got to be laser-focused, be a sniper out there and get the job done."
