Kratz will start at catcher and bat seventh Sunday against the Cardinals.
He'll be behind the plate for the third consecutive day with Manny Pina (shoulder) unavailable. The Brewers are viewing Pina as day-to-day for now, so if he's able to return to action during the upcoming week, Kratz would settle back into the backup role.
