Wong (back) will be held out of the starting lineup Saturday against the Cubs, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
A back issue has plagued Wong since early September. Wong tried to fight through it after a maintenance day Thursday, but manager Mike Matheny could see that the 26-year-old still "wasn't right" while running the bases and promptly removed Wong from Friday's game in the fifth inning. His status for the series finale is up in the air.
