Wick was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Sunday.
The Cardinals added Wick to the 40-man roster in the offseason to protect him from the Rule 5 draft, but he was never under any serious consideration for an Opening Day roster spot. After breezing through the Florida State League to begin last season, Wick scuffled a bit upon moving up to Double-A Springfield, compiling a 4.12 ERA and 1.46 WHIP while walking 14 batters in 19.2 innings.
