Tuivailala was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
Tuivailala looked solid for the most of spring, tossing six scoreless innings in five appearances. However, it was his outing against the Marlins -- where he was hammered for four runs in 0.2 innings -- that likely did him in. He'll start the season off at Triple-A Memphis and will offer bullpen depth when needed.
