The Diamondbacks reinstated Weaver (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Padres.

Weaver will be toeing the rubber for Arizona for the first time since May 16 after a rotator cuff strain kept him on the shelf for three and a half months. The right-hander covered 4.1 innings (73 pitches) in his final rehab start at Triple-A Reno on Aug. 20, so he should face only light restrictions with his workload as he steps back into the Arizona rotation. Prior to getting shut down with the injury, Weaver went 2-3 with a 4.50 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 38:13 K:BB in 40 innings with the big club.
