The Mariners outrighted Cloyd to Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday after he cleared waivers, Bob Dutton of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Cloyd boasted a 1.40 ERA in five starts at Tacoma already this year, and his one-outing cameo with the Mariners wasn't enough to argue for a sustained opportunity. The 30-year-old, who had a bit of prospect promise near the turn of the decade with the Phillies, will look to bolster his case as something more than an organizational depth piece.
