Snell (groin) hasn't been ruled out from returning to pitch this season, per MLB.com.

The Padres were eliminated from the postseason over the weekend, but they could still have an impact on the NL West title with three-game sets against the Dodgers and Giants this week. That could be enough motivation for Snell to make one final start in 2021, though that's far from a guarantee given the southpaw's lingering groin issue. San Diego manager Jayce Tingler has indicated that the team isn't closing the door on Snell's return completely, stating, "We still have a ways to go before ultimately we make a call with Snell. But he's doing everything in his power to try to get back on the mound one more time."
