The Red Sox recalled Cordero from Triple-A Worcester on Sunday.
Cordero went 7-for-32 with two walks and 14 strikeouts in his most recent big-league stint before being sent down Aug. 16. Despite their COVID-19 outbreak, the Red Sox have remained relatively deep at first base and outfield, so Cordero figures to get minimal playing time.
