Week 9 of the 2021-22 NBA season began with a nine-game slate on Monday, and several up-and-comers showcased why they're their rostership is trending upward. Some fantasy managers might key in on ideal stash targets like the Milwaukee Bucks' Donte DiVincenzo, who's set to make his debut against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. However, other options can provide immediate impact ahead of Week 10.

Here are four Week 9 waiver-wire targets worth pursuing.

Marcus Morris, F, LAC (46% rostered)

I considered Morris a priority waiver-wire target before the first week of the season, but his production was derailed by lingering back pain. He's relevant again now that he's back in the rotation and has flourished as a scorer lately. He finished Week 8, averaging 13.8 points in December, and scored at least 17 points in four of the five games that preceded Monday's matchup against the Suns. He's bound to have some duds here and there, but his hot scoring nights and three-point numbers make him a valuable role player.

Anfernee Simons, G, POR (42% rostered)

Simons is in for a HUGE boost in fantasy value. The fourth-year Trail Blazers guard is having his best season yet and returned from a three-game layoff to tally 26 points in 33 minutes against the Timberwolves on Sunday. While he didn't start for the injured CJ McCollum (lung), his punch off the bench will be in high demand with the usual starting shooting guard out. Simons is averaging 18.7 points per contest when he logs at least 25 minutes this season.

Danilo Gallinari, F, ATL (42% rostered)

Gallinari has used December to work his way back into Atlanta's rotation and hasn't been a letdown. The Hawks' stretch four entered Monday, averaging 17 points and 5.75 rebounds per game over his last four outings. He can provide a scoring punch while Bogdan Bogdanovic misses a couple of weeks with an ankle injury. He has less long-term upside than the aforementioned players, but it's safe to say that he'll be the Hawks' biggest bench contributor moving for the foreseeable future.

Garrison Matthews, G, HOU (41% rostered)

Matthews is making the most of the Rockets' lack of wings and has provided efficient scoring since late November. The 25-year-old sniper entered Monday, averaging 16.4 points over his previous nine games. He reached double-digits in points for each contest during that stretch while shooting 50 percent from the field and 44 percent from deep. Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green are on the mend, so there's no reason for Matthews' minutes to take a big hit anytime soon.
