Heuerman nabbed one of two passes for 20 yards in Monday's win over the Chargers.
Both of Heuerman's targets came early in the first quarter, including a 20-yard nab over the middle to help set up Denver's first touchdown. Head coach Vance Joseph said after the game that it was part of the Broncos' game plan to attack the Chargers' Cover-3 zone with tight ends up the seams. It has been offensive coordinator Mike McCoy's tendency to use multiple tight end formations to create mismatches. The only question will be which of the trio of Heuerman, A.J. Derby and Virgil Green will be the one to benefit most.
