The Dolphins have big plans in store for Thomas this season, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.

Thomas was acquired from Jacksonville during the offseason and could give the offense a true threat at tight end the Dolphins haven't had since Charles Clay left via free agency. Reunited with head coach Adam Gase, Thomas will look to replicate his success when the pair was both in Denver. Granted, Peyton Manning was under center at the time, but perhaps Gase truly knows how to get the best out of Thomas.
