Davis completed 10 of 16 passes for 123 yards and touchdown Thursday, leading the Seahawks on a 75-yard game-winning scoring drive to beat the Raiders in the preseason finale.

Trevone Boykin entered camp as the favorite for the backup quarterback job behind Russell Wilson, but Davis outplayed him in the last three preseason games, including Thursday, when Boykin threw two interceptions. Davis was 5-for-5 for 67 yards on the winning drive, completing the 16-yard touchdown strike with 1:10 remaining. Boykin is a dual-threat quarterback who at times can dazzle, but Davis is a steadier veteran who may be less susceptible to turnovers. The team's decision on a backup could come down to whether it values upside over stability, or vice versa.
