Last spring, Dennis Schroder turned down an $84 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers to seek a deal north of $100 million elsewhere. He ended up settling for a mid-level exception with the Boston Celtics, only to be traded to the Houston Rockets, and in his first start on Wednesday he scored 23 points against Phoenix. Houston plays the second game of back-to-back on Thursday against the Los Angeles Clippers, so can Schroder be counted on to produce for a second consecutive night in NBA DFS lineups?

The Clippers' most recent game also came against the Suns, and Chris Paul finished with 17 points and 14 assists in the Suns' 103-96 victory. Schroder already has 14 assists in just two games with the Rockets, so is there hidden value with Schroder in Thursday's late game NBA DFS player pool? Before you make your NBA DFS picks, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine's Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He's also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They're a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

On Wednesday, McClure included Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma as one of his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Kuzma had one of his best games of the season and scored 26 points with 15 rebounds, six assists and a steal against Indiana to return 58.75 points on DraftKings and 53 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Thursday, February 17, NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Thursday, February 17

One of McClure's top NBA DFS picks for Thursday is Clippers point guard Reggie Jackson, who is listed at $6,800 on DraftKings and $6,700 on FanDuel. Over Jackson's last 10 starts, he has averaged 17.5 points, six assists and 3.7 rebounds. Even though his efficiency has been a bit up-and-down, he has done a good job of creating shots for himself, and has averaged 16.6 per game during that stretch.

The Clippers play three of their next four games against the Houston Rockets, starting with tonight's matchup. Houston isn't a dramatically better team than it was last season, and Jackson put up better offensive totals against the Rockets than any other team in the two starts he had against them last year. In those games, he averaged 22.5 points, six assists, 4.5 rebounds and hit 60 percent of his three-point attempts.

Another part of McClure's optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Nets shooting guard Seth Curry ($5,500 on DraftKings, $6,000 on FanDuel). The recent addition came to Brooklyn as part of a deal with Philadelphia that also included Ben Simmons, although Simmons has yet to play for the Nets. Brooklyn is at home against a re-tooled Washington Wizards team, and will be without the services of Kevin Durant (knee) as well as Kyrie Irving (ineligible).

Curry has found new life with the Nets, and has hit 53.1 percent of his shots through his first two games played. He's also hit 9-of-17 three-point attempts and scored 43 total points. Washington doesn't appear to have much to play for with Bradley Beal (wrist) done for the year, but Brooklyn still has aspirations of a late-season run. Curry's production figures to be a significant factor both in the short-and-long term for the team.
