  • Nets' Kevin Durant: Out 4-to-6 weeks with MCL sprain

Durant was diagnosed with an MCL sprain of his left knee after undergoing an MRI on Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The Nets are optimistic Durant will be ready to play after a 4-to-6-week rehab program.

Durant suffered the injury early in Saturday's game against the Pelicans, and though he was initially hopeful that he would avoid an extended absence, the MRI revealed a bleaker prognosis for the star forward. The Nets are set to return from the All-Star break Feb. 24 against the Celtics, and the team is unlikely to rush him back before the end of the first half. Kessler Edwards and DeAndre' Bembry could serve as the Nets' starting forwards in the short term while Durant is out, though Joe Harris could eventually displace one of the two once he makes a full recovery from ankle surgery.

  • Nets' Kevin Durant: Exits with knee sprain

Durant (knee) will not return to Saturday's game against the Pelicans due to a sprained left knee, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

During the second quarter, teammate Bruce Brown fell into Durant's knee, and Durant walked almost immediately to the locker room. Durant will get an MRI on Sunday, and fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if he's out for an extended period.

  • Nets' Kevin Durant: Paces squad with big third quarter

Durant amassed 27 points (7-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 10-11 FT), two rebounds, nine assists and two steals across 30 minutes during Wednesday's 138-112 victory over Chicago.

Durant had a relatively quiet first half, but he exploded for 17 points in the third quarter and helped Brooklyn outscore the Bulls by 20 in the frame to put the game out of reach. The superstar forward needed only 10 total field-goal attempts to reach the 27-point mark and fell one assist shy of a double-double. Durant has scored at least 26 points in each of his past 12 contests and leads the league with 29.7 points per game on the season.
