Bengals' Giovani Bernard: First preseason action

Bernard (knee) had four carries for 25 yards in Sunday's loss to the Redskins in his first preseason work of the season.

Bernard saw most of his snaps in the second half, slotting behind Jeremy Hill and Joe Mixon. Hill left with an ankle injury, however, so Bernard's opportunities would increase early in the season should that injury persist. Bernard also remains the Bengals' top third-down back.
