Gay was signed by the Bills on Saturday, Bills' sideline reporter Sal Capaccio reports. After spending two seasons with the Bills, Gay was released by the team in September. Dan Carpenter, who missed his second extra-point of the season last week, is still on the roster, so it is unclear who the Bills will go with in Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars. Given that Gay signed with the team the day before the game, Carpenter will presumably get the nod, but will likely have a short-leash if he has any hiccups.
Gay was released by the Bills on Tuesday, Chris Brown of the team's official website reports. Gay had merely been working as a kickoff specialist, and the Bills will seemingly now let Dan Carpenter handle those duties.
Gay was elevated to the active roster Friday, BuffaloBills.com reports. Dan Carpenter owners need not worry; the Bills simply had an extra roster spot and appear to prefer Gay kicking off now that the Ravens have signed dangerous return man Devin Hester.
The Bills announced that they've signed kickoff specialist Jordan Gay to a contract extension. Gay was an exclusive-rights free agent for the Bills.
The Panthers waived or released nine players: receivers Toney Clemons, Kealoha Pilares and Marvin McNutt, linebacker Anthony Morales, defensive ends Alex Hall and Craig Roh, punter Jordan Gay, offensive tackle Oscar Johnson and defensive tackle Linden Gaydosh.
