Harris was let go by the Saints on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Harris has bounced back and forth between the Saints' practice squad and active roster throughout the season. He figures to revert to the former assuming he does not want to look for a new opportunity.
Harris, who has had six previous stints with the Saints since May, will fill the roster spot of cornerback Dexter McDougle, who was waived Tuesday. He'll provide important depth for the Saints at tackle after starter Terron Armstead suffered an undisclosed injury in the Week 12 loss to the Rams.
Harris was waived by the Saints on Saturday, Josh Katzenstein of The Times-Picayune reports.
Harris was signed by the Saints two weeks ago but failed to record a single snap with the team. He was waived in order to make room for linebacker Adam Bighill on the active roster.
Harris was released by the 49ers on Saturday.
Harris spent less than a week with the 49ers after he was signed by the team Wednesday. The departure of the 30-year-old creates room for the team to add offensive lineman Darrell Williams and bring defensive tackle Ronald Blair off of injured reserve.
